We are pleased to announce that at the beginning of 2015, the association “Rīgas Kuģis/Riga ship” has obtained the status of a public benefit organization in the field of culture.
This status means that income tax is reduced by 85% of the donated amount. The procedure for receiving tax discounts from legal entities is determined by the Law on Income Tax.
We invite members and supporters to take advantage of the new opportunity and be active in attracting funds to finance the associaton’s activities and projects. In turn, we would like to inform you about the work of the board of “Rīgas Kuģis/Riga Ship” during the last general meeting.
In preparation for the 2015 tasks related to the project “Senā osta/Ancient Harbour”, discussions were held with specialists of the Chamber of Crafts, students of RTU Design department and the head of RTU Urban Planning Department on student involvement in cooperation with 3D visualization specialists from Ocean.lv to visualize a project in 3D. We work on the historical project of the reconstruction of Riga ship – documents, drawings and 3D visualization. Modeling of the ship’s model at 1:15 is in the completion phase.
At the same time, the working group is working on preparing the stand for participation in the section “Recreation and Sports 2015” of the exhibition “Baltic Boat Show 2015”, which will take place at Kipsala Exhibition Center BT1 from 27th March to 29th March 2015. We intend to build a stand in the outdoor exposition (75 sq / m), where the Viking ship “Indriķis” (length 15 m), built by our member, master Juris Zīle, would be located.
Your participation in our stand would be very welcome, so we invite you to apply for those who could devote their time to any of the exhibition days. Several of our members are ready to stand on the stand for the duration of the show and it will be their contribution to the work of the association.
Unfortunately, with the membership fees paid, the main part of which is the special transport services (from/to Birzgale), crane services and the allocated area for the outdoor exposition (total approx. 2000- EUR), the association is unable to cover.
The ideas of the project “Senā osta/Ancient Harbour” and the supporters of this project are invited to participate, to shoulder and to support the association “Rīgas Kuģis/Riga ship” in its socially important activities.
In 2015, the association is also working on obtaining status in science and education.
How you can get tax discounts?
For legal entities – if in this year you donate to the association “Rīgas Kuģis/Riga ship”, then in the next year, when submitting the annual income tax return declaration to the State Revenue Service, according to the Law on Income Tax, “Tax discounts” must be indicated.
The declaration must be accompanied by a statement clearly stating the purpose of the transfer – Donation to the association “Rīgas Kuģis/Riga Ship”:
1.Organisation income order if donate in cash or
2.Printed, confirmed bank payment order, if you deposit donation by bank transfer.
